We can reach the same as Malaysia if the negotiation between the government and the peace talk to MILF and any related crimes will be settle. Philippine country known as dangerous country in the Asia, Tourists will come to enjoy and to fulfill the happiness in their lives not to be their hostages. The government must do action if we need development and to be tourism billionaire as well. Its a great accomplishment to have a very peace land in the Far East Islands.

Honestly our media has something to do also with our poor performance in the tourism indutries as well, WHY??? isang negative factor kasi eh kapag nanuod ka ng news sa TV eh lahat ng panget sa Pilipinas eh yun ang binabalita at hina-highlight e.g. patayan, kidnapping, mga corrupt officials sa gobyerno at lahat ng panget para isang lugar eh binrodcast na sa buong mundo dahil kapag ganito ang headline ay mas maraming pinoy ang nanunuod kaya pati sa ibang bansa gamit ang mga cable or satellite network eh yun din ang napapanuod ng mga ibang lahi. Do you think kung matino ang isip mo ay gugustuhin mo pang pumunta sa pilipinas??? kailangan ng over haul sa lipunan natin otherwise hindi eh talagang hindi kailaman tayo magiging pasulong kundi pabalik.

Tourists like to see or watch the local dances, local culture, practices, local products, etc..
local transportation should be made easily available to foreign tourists, such as train service, bus, etc. tourists are also particular about cleanliness. look at divisoria, china town, etc. how can we attract tourists to visit those places? in China, they introduced "old or ancient towns" and "night markets" and used this as a tourist attraction.

baka nasa mga airport natin ang problema, di ba ang daming palahingi dian sa arrival area ng regalo, ng pera ng kung anuano. ang malaysia kaya siguro dinadayo baka gustong matingnan at maakyat ang minsang pinaka mataas na gusali ng mundo ang petronas tower. pag may building ganoon ang isang bansa, hindi mahirap ang bansang iyon. ang mga turista hindi naman sa mga mahihirap na bansa ah. baka darating din ang bansa sa puntong iyan kapag medyo umunlad na tayo, lalo na kapag wala na ang mga mangungurakot sa pamahalaan. o kaya, ano, gumawa naman tayo ng gusaling may papunta sa ilang may papunta sa itaas hanggang 100 storys inggit rin lang tayo sa malaysia

1. Security – you can’t walk around here as a foreigner without being mobbed/mugged. In Bangkok, you can walk in the streets while SMSing / making a call without worrying that someone would snatch your phone from you. But if that does happen, (rumor says – snatchers/ pickpockets/ motorcycle-riding snatchers in BKK) kapwa mo Filipino din pala yun.

2. Backpacker-friendly cottages/ youth hostels – We offer tourism right but by squeezing too much money from foreigners. Not all tourists are stashing off money – some are on a strict budget.

3. Stop the colonial mentality attitude – it may sound ironic but we should stop kissing a88es whenever we see a white guy and we should be proud presenting the country as ‘a quality product’, like a professional businessman trying to impress a potential client.

4. Filipino pride – we should start feeling good about ourselves, our heritage and our country. The rest will fall into place.

stop collection of terminal fee
stop kotong inside the airports (security guards – customs)
police visibility inside and outside the airports up to all tourist destinations

Dear Sir or Madam, I am an English man living in Mindanao.
Yes you are right the Philippines has a lot to offer, the country side is beautiful with many different attractions, and I find the people are very helpful and polite,and I feel safer here than on the streets of London.
But this is not what the people in the UK see on TV or read in the news papers. They see and read about killings, kidnappings, and a country at civil war. My own embassy advise people not to travel in parts of Mindanao because they say it is not safe.
So I am afraid that you will never become a leading tourist resort until these problems are sorted out.

The reasons why tourist are not attracted to Philippines are 1. The security in the Philippines are not as good in other country so many kidnap for ransom are happening in the Philippines 2. Lack of advertisement on Philippines beautiful places in order to attract tourist
