Chi Square and Coorelation Analysis?

What are similarities between a chi square analysis and a coorelation analysis? Suppose you conducted a study to see of there was an association between political party affiliation and whether or not someone voted. What type of analysis would you use and why?

ANSWER: Chi-square isn’t similar to a coorelation analysis in the least. The type of analysis you need for studying "association" is coorelation analysis to determine the relationship between the two variables of party and voting frequency.

how did the Scot’s become a celtic nation? The biological and historical connection the Scots have with Celtic populations is equal to that of the English. The Scots language is a West Germanic language that has no connection to any Celtic language and has a very strong connection with old English, Norwegian, and other extinct West Germanic languages. The Scots language is descended from the language of the Angles who settled in northern Britain, in an area now known as North Umbria in the 5th century AD. The term “Scot” which refers to the Scottish people did not exist in “Scotland” until the late 4th century, comes from the Irish Gaelic word “Scottie”. The “Scottie” was an Irish tribe that settled in what would be the highlands of Scotland around that time. This Irish tribe in the north of the country was culturally, biologically, and linguistically completely different from the “Scots” of the lowlands. The people of the highlands of Scotland have always been a minority with the exception of the 9th-11th centuries when the highlander clans obtained dominants over the lowlands and the nationalized language of the military and courts was for a relatively brief period Gaelic. I am not arguing whether or not the Scots blended or assimilated into a Germanic Anglo-Saxon culture. All cultures and ethnic groups are never completely homogeneous. I am simply stating the fact that the Scots are primarily a Germanic people and not a Celtic people. Unlike the Irish, welsh, Cornish, or Bretons which are or once were legitimate Celtic populations prior to the Germanic invasions. This is not meant to be an attack on Scottish identity. I am just stating historical facts. Celtic populations existed all over Europe. The Celts were among the last of the mass nomadic populations of Europe. The Balkans, Asia minor, and the Iberian peninsula all used to have very large Celtic populations. I am not trying to change history. The affiliations and associations have already been established. In my personal opinion the only reason Scots took on a Celtic identity was for alliance purposes. To deter to crown of England from Scotland and to secure national sovereignty and create strong allies. This strategy ultimately failed. I liken this to all the tens of millions of Berbers of north Africa that call themselves Arabs when the Berbers are not even remotely related to Semitic peoples.

i’m not scottish, but i know enough to tell you that lowland scots and highland scots have very different cultures, historically speakin. ur right in sayin that lowland scots is a germanic language and the people are probably more germanic too, probably due to their proximy to england. highland scots on the other hand are much more celtic and gaelic. gaidhlig or scots gaelic is a celtic language descended from old irish. this is because irish people set up a kingdom in north western scotland known as the dal riada. these people either absorbed or dislaced the native picts hence the gaelic culture that we find in highland scotland today.

"Study suggests ‘born-again’ believers have smaller brains"

"The study, funded by the National Institutes of Health and the Templeton Foundation, included at least two MRI measurements of the hippocampus region of 268 adults between 1994 and 2005.

It found an association between participants’ professed religious affiliation and the physical structure of their brain. Specifically, those identified as Protestant who did not have a religious conversion or born-again experience — more common among their evangelical brethren — had a bigger hippocampus."

http://www.usatoday.com/news/religion/2011-05-25-brain24_ST_N.htm

Opponents do not dispute the facts of small-brain size, but they do dispute the theory expressed that ‘born-again’ people are a minority.

lol, I’ve also read that devout Fox News viewers are 25% less intelligent than the rest of the population.
I’ve also read that some studies have detected a causal relationship between Christianity and Obesity, given that there are not dietary restrictions in Christianity, it just might be accurate.

I ask because I can’t see the difference between any of the muslims and the terrorist. They are all together by association and affiliation.
Farid Dari, Please understand that I do not intend to disparage you personally. To prove my point: If I were a member of the Klu Klux Klan and said Im not one of the radicals that burn cross’s and murder people and that the KKK is a religious and peaceful organization. Part of or law states : ALL PEOPLE WILL CONVERT TO THE KKK or we must kill them in a horrific way as to strike fear in their heart by beheading, would you believe me?

No, they are hateful terrorists who would like nothing more than to kill Americans. This is not a religion of peace.

The Atheist Movement is most like a?

Posted by: | Comments (25)

1) a tightly controled conspiracy
2) a close association of like minded individuals
3)a loose affiliation of people with common goals
4) a wildly stampeding herd of feral cats

I’d say 4 but the word "herd" implies far more organization and the word "cats" implies far more homogeneity than anything I have seen.

Not to mention the words "wildly", "stampeding", and "feral" which imply a level of activity far beyond that of most of us.

New footage has appeared with Obama claiming a close affiliation with the corrupt organization. "I welcome ACORNs input, I worked with them on every campaign in Illionois, I’ve been working with them my entire career."

It is commonly know he worked with them as an attorney, but he has done well in distancing himself from a closer association. (As he has done with Wright, Ayers, Alinsky, Blago)

http://newsmax.com/InsideCover/obama-acorn-organizer/2008/10/13/id/325885

Old News: the people of America already know that Obama has some horrid friends he has distanced himself from since 2007. More important to concentrate on the job he has done as President which is more horrid than his fiends.

Think of his Health Care Fiasco and locking up both houses for more than Year with the only thing that passed is a failed Stimulus.

Think Elkhart IN, Obama stood in that town a little over a year ago and told the people of that town and state if he got 838 billion stimulus he could fix the 15% unemployment there. He picked Elkhart because it was the most unemployed town in America. see link

http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/02/09/o…

Since he made a promise of hope, change, and stimulus kick starts there the town has lost:

Gunite Corp, lost 225 jobs this week, over 500 since promise:

http://www.southbendtribune.com/article/…

Stimulus money was withheld and sent to other districts for projects

http://www.southbendtribune.com/article/…

Accuride, a steel plant is closing and 500 jobs are going with it.

http://www.indystar.com/article/20100220…

Over 100 retail stores and small businesses have closed since Obama made his promises. The 15.5 unemployment rate jumped to 22.6% and the fell back to it’s current 16%. Not because any jobs were brought back, preserved, or created. It fell because people became discouraged and stopped looking after exhausting benefits and others just gave up and moved.

That’s Change for America and we haven’t seen it since the great depression. It’s on his plate and he makes it worse. His performance not charecter is what will beat him in 2012
